Keeper Robbed, Hollow Knight Recycled
Menukamutf, May 15, 11 9:15 AM.
On Saturday, May 14, 2011, SHR Gen 4 defeats the Keeper of the Artifacts (HoX/Staff)/Hollow Knight...The 6th boss in Tier 3....A major t3 hurdle that was overcome.

Insofar, the Hollow Knight was the only boss we spent the most time on...longer than Hathor-Ka (approximately 24 encounters with the Hollow Knight over the span of 8 raids that got him to spawn). It was a matter of time before we took the hollow knight down and this was no fluke. Garethden even called it. The first attempt we got the Hollow Knight to 13%. After two quick resets, on the 4th attempt (the second time we got the Hollow Knight to spawn) we took em down with a very close victory using the entire room.

Great job SHR on another milestone accomplished. This puts SHR historically as the 9th raid group to beat the Hollow Knight on Wiccana and in the runnings with Epic Guard and Vox Invictus to be the 6th raid group on Wiccana to defeat Thoth-Amon.

We reached the end of the road folks because the next stop is the big Kahuna himself - Thoth-Amon!

Attempts: 4 (2 quick resets)
Tactic used: Jigsaw pattern/Kiting along width.
Loot dropped: Nilus the Blood Wake (Alairia), Axe of Red Ruin (Heraclea), Coil of the Boa (Mairenne), Rare token -  priest & soldier (Min & Heraclea)

Lastly I would like to acknowledge the SHR regs who were part of the progression that led to this victory but could not be with us for the first kill due to RL.

The Favored of Louhi Disfavored
Menukamutf, Feb 21, 11 3:30 AM.

On Sunday February 20, 2011, SHR defeats the Favored of Louhi on the 6th attempt in our first encounter. Took a bit of tweaking at the end by swapping out classes for the mana drain, but we found our groove with sufficient mana drains, tank swapping, and melee not killing themselves to Divine Ecstasy.

This concludes a great weekend of raiding and progress! Only 2 more bosses to go!

Arbanus Skinned - SHR Back in Action!
Menukamutf, Feb 14, 11 2:50 AM.

The defeat of Arbanus on Sunday February 13, 2011 marks a new level of progress as we pick up from the long gap where we left off many months ago, as SHR was the 9th raid group on Wiccana to defeat and farm Hathor-Ka way back in July 25, 2010.

After recovering from the retirement of 2/3 of the veteran raiders from Wiccana’s RP community, SHR is back on track and revitalized with a solid 4th generation team.

The SHR Gen 4 team consists of members of the following RP guilds: Grey Knights, Shadow Company, Venja Cartel, Black Daggers, Deshar Shem and the Sanctuary duo.

Arbanus loot -  Gloves of Pandemonium (Kyriae) and Armbands of the Pain legion (Garethden) and Priest Urn (Shazeen)

Congratulations to those who got loot and the new proud owners of Scipio’s amulet.

The next boss, Master Gyas was down to 15% on the second attempt before the raid was called. See you all next week for another victory.

SHR Says Farewell to Valrykia
Menukamutf, Jan 24, 11 4:55 AM.
To all SHR Raiders:

Today SHR salutes and says farewell to one of its finest longest standing member. I thought I'd give this post a proper place where it belongs because Val needs to be acknowledged.  Aside from myself, Val is the only other raider left from our founding day raid back in Nov 23, 2008. She historically has the longest raid attendance in SHR and the raids that she missed...I can count on both hands. As a regular guardian for 2 years, she was the backbone of the raid and played a critical role and responsible for getting numerous players their gear and raid experience.

Many of you in the later generations may not know Val well. Many of you do. Val is a founding member of SHR and even pre-SHR. A bit of history here...Long before SHR was formed and Onyx chambers was the closest thing to a raid we the RPers could stage. Val was my main tank. It was Val who was responsible for getting me my full Skyshear set because a guardian to tank Onyx Chambers was difficult to find. Anytime I needed help with a quest or needed a tank for an epic instance run, Val was always willing to help out and put up with my daily runs into Onyx Chambers. She was someone I could count on. When I was invited to Retribution (Meridian) and Barbarians on the Horizon raids back when only three guilds on this server could stage a t1 raid, Val was the first person I tried to get in. Before SHR was formed, Val was one of the first people I told the idea to.

Well, that idea became a 2-year reality and we are who we are today because folks like Val who was the foundation of the proud and historic raiding coalition that you are part of today.

Any guild will be blessed to have Valrykia. She is loyal and will stick it out in a guild to the bitter end and never refuses the call for help - whether you were in her guild or not -  All you needed to do was ask.

So Val if you are reading this...words cannot express my appreciation for all you done. When you leave, a part of SHR's soul goes with you. Nothing lasts forever and 2 years is a long time. You went above and beyond. I'm glad you had fun and we left you with fond memories and contributed to your online experience, as you were part of ours.

Don't be a stranger. Doors always open for you. Poke your head in when you are around, check out the new bosses. We will get em down for you girl.

With fondest regards,

Menukamutf
SHR Founder & Senior Raid Leader

P.S. - In case you didn't know, my Onyx Chambers Guide that is sticked in the AoC Raid & Tactics forum  was dedicated to you. Thanks for all the good times.
